Date | Question | Answer |
1081009 | 1. Is there any career opportunity in NTHU itself? (any full-time or part-time job?). I like the university environment. 2. Does NTHU have any collaboration with any company to get jobs in there? 3. Is there an employment shell who directly helps us to find jobs. This type of office (department) in the university collects details (resume) from students and help them to find opportunities. |
This question has been asked by international students for many times. I understand the situation of international student to find jobs in this society is difficult. There is some information in Office of Student Affairs. In reality, big companies do not systematically announce their complete job opportunities to the university. I also suggest you to summit yourresume to the HR departmentof these big companies. |
1081122 | How does NTHU enhance the opportunities for foreign students in giant companies like TSMC? Reason: In past 4-5 years no foreign students who have graduated from NTHU ( especially Indian) haven't been hired in TSMC. However, TSMC has been hiring IIT graduates from India. With the prior experience and exposure to working environment in Taiwan, NTHU students should be preferred. |
We contacted TSMC. According to the information they provided for us, they have around 20 employees from India. They didn’t reject students from India. During spring and autumn, TSMC is recruiting people. Last spring, there were 150 vacancies in Hsinchu. The standard is the same for those channels. But if you speak Chinese, there will be more opportunities and chances. For the RD department, they can accept English-only employees. |
1091021 | 1. Does the university has any support or job offer for fresh graduated students? 2. There are job affairs or carreer days jn NTHU, however, most of them are in Chinese. 1091125 | 1.I’m from Vietnam and my department is chemical engineering. So, I have a question about the Chinese language ability. So actually, we have taken the conversation class in Chinese and we can communicate a little bit. But in the actual work, we need the academic Chinese, right? So, I would like to ask about the English ability and the basic conversation skills in Chinese. Is it enough for working in the company in Taiwan? And how strong is the job opportunity for foreigner students? And, another thing is, like undergraduate in Vietnam, we have the industrial trips for senior students to get familiar with the industrial zone. So how about in Tsing Hua for master students? Because we work in the project, and we do the science thing, but we don’t know what actually in a company we can do. Can school provide some industrial trips for us? 2.My last question is that is it possible to have internship talk about job opportunities in Taiwan, including the environment expectation for the future applicants, especially the foreigners? |
1.(President) Yeah, it’s a good suggestion. It’s always good for them to see the working environment in the industry. About the language ability, that’s what we talked about just a moment ago. Yes, mandarin is useful. So, the more you can handle the mandarin conversation, it’s more helpful definitely. 2.(Vice President for Student Affairs) As the president said, we have many requirements from this event.
